Founding Members Information

Kathleen Reeve Kathleen Reeve RN, DrPH, ANP-C
Office: Past President 1995-2000

I was instrumental in setting up HANP as a non profit corporation and developing the bylaws. Prior to that time, HANP was a very loosely run group with no real structure. I initiated regular meetings with the Board to develop the structure for the organization, and together we laid the foundation for the organization as we know it today. As Director of the Adult Nurse Practitioner Program, I encouraged all my students to become active in their professional organizations, which has increased membership.

Rhonda Hunsucker Rhonda Hunsucker RN, MSN, GNP-C, FAANP
Office: Past President 2000-2001

I sat as VP for HANP from 1995-1999 (there were few of us around at the time! And the election process was not implemented formally, there were very few NP's available/interested in running for office!)

Accomplishments:

  • Formalized the election process
  • Increased membership and organization awareness (if you have records of actual numbers that would be great)
  • Finalized the Non-Profit 501 status (through the "worker bee" of Kathleen Reeves!)
  • HANP Logo: Held a Contest for designs to be submitted and organization voted for the current logo used today! (Won by Suzanne Day from MD Anderson)

  • Suzanne Day Suzanne Day RN, MSN, NP-C
    Office: Secretary

Vaunette Faye Vaunette Faye RN, MSN, NP-C
    Office: Founding Member

Janet Davis Janet Davis RN, MSN, NP-C
    Office: Founding Member
