Goal 1: Recruitment & Retention
Mission: To increase and retain membership.
Strategies:
Establish a recruitment and retention committee by January, 2007
Survey members to determine the needs and wants for the organization
Actions:
BoD will appoint the chairperson of recruitment and retention committee
Create survey by April, 2007

Goal 2: Professional Advanced Practice Nurse Visibility
Mission: To promote the visibility of advanced practice nurses to consumers and providers.
Strategies:
Announce HANP website feature at each HANP monthly meeting
BoD will support community relations committee to establish 2 goals per year
Community Relations Committee to develop HANP business cards
Actions (by August, 2007):
Distribute HANP business cards to the BoD and make available to membership
Community Relations Committee will establish two goals per fiscal year

Goal 3: Promote Education
Mission: To provide CME/CEU educational opportunities and dinner programs
Strategies:
Education committee establishes one CME/CEU conference/workshop biannually
Education committee continues monthly sponsored educational meetings
Actions:
Education committee will coordinate all educational activities for fiscal year 2007/2008.
Host a CME/CEU conference for fiscal year 2007-2008.

Goal 4: To provide funding for the scholarship program
Mission: HANP will provide 2 scholarships for advanced practice nurse students
Strategies:
Scholarship committee will develop ad hoc committees to develop and execute fundraising activities (i.e., silent auction at a CME/CEU conference hosted by HANP)
Action:
Scholarship committee will have at least one activity per fiscal year in order to fund scholarships

Develop strategies for re-activating the inactive members and recruiting new members to the organization (e.g., presentation to local advanced practice nurse schools of nursing – UT, TWU, Prairie View A&M; make contacts with university APN programs)
